The Modulating Effects of Vitamin A on Hemangioma Cell Growth and Phenotype

Project Description

Dr. Braunhut studied the effects of circulating levels of vitamin A in the blood and how they contribute to the growth of normal cells versus hemangioma cells. Hemangioma is a tumor or malformation of blood vessels that may occur in any part of the body. Her goal was to determine whether or not vitamin A can prevent the tumor cells from dividing and spreading to adjacent connective tissue.
