The goals of Dr. Falany’s investigations were to determine the ability of a newly identified form of human cytosolic- and other sulfotransferases (STs) to sulfate several synthetic, natural and dietary estrogenic compounds (i.e. estrogen, estradiol, genistein, daidzein, naringenin). The action of these STs may provide possible protection against the development of hormone responsive cancers.
