“Every company needs a soul; every person needs a charity…Shred Cancer has been my soul.”
Jeff Hasham, CEO of Proshred Security, was not always a generous supporter of AICR. That changed when one of his friends and franchise owners passed away after a long battle with cancer. Jeff remembers the last weeks of David Wright’s life, after he had defied the odds and survived two years beyond the three months he was expected to live.
David had always lived an active and healthy life. He believed this is what kept him alive and strong for as long as he could fight, even until his last days when he was still working on his antique Chevy. “David was an antique car guy,” Jeff recalls.
Inspired by David’s journey, Jeff began to focus on living a healthier life. This is when he found AICR and transformed his passion into purpose. Proshred Security and AICR came together to launch Shred Cancer, a national event which has raised over $200,000 for cancer research. Jeff’s desire to make giving an integral part of his business continues through Shred Cancer events each year and his devotion to AICR’s work.
Jeff is a true Canadian. He was born and raised in Toronto, studied at the University of Toronto where he met his wife and earned his MBA at McMaster University. An avid tennis player, traveler and cook, Jeff has amplified his healthy, active lifestyle by following AICR’s Cancer Prevention Recommendations.
Jeff believes in living life to the fullest. He enjoys every experience with his wife and two daughters, while still cutting back on added sugar, eating less red meat and being mindful of making healthy choices.
Jeff is a strong supporter of AICR’s research and recommendations, and is looking forward to the 2020 Shred Cancer Event.
