About the Conference:
The AICR Research Conference is a unique forum that brings together researchers and clinicians for a three-day program that is dedicated to increasing knowledge, stimulating research and promoting prevention and treatment of cancer through nutrition, physical activity and weight management.
The 25th AICR Research Conference will take place November 14 - 16, 2016 in North Bethesda, MD.

Posters Abstract Submission Guidelines
Acceptance status notifications have been sent to all poster presenters. If you did not receive an e-mail, please contact the AICR Research Department at firstname.lastname@example.org or 202-328-7744 with your name and phone number. All poster presenters must be registered for the full conference by Friday, October 7 to guarantee their spot in a poster session. Poster presenters registered for only one day will not be included in a poster session.

Share your research with conference delegates by preseneting a poster. All posters must be related to cancer, with a focus on food, nutrition, physical activity or overweight/obesity. The deadline to submit a poster abstract is September 16, 2016.
Poster Abstract Submission Fee: $50
Posters abstracts must be submitted through our online submission service. A non-refundable processing fee of $50 will be charged for each abstract submission. Abstracts must be paid for electronically and in full at the time of submission.
If you are a post-docotral scholar, you may elect to have your poster entered in the John A. Milner poster competition. Only applicants who will be in a post-doctoral position at the time of the conference are eligible for the competition. You must indicate during the poster abstract submission process that you would like your poster to be considered. Posters will be judged during the poster sessions at the conference and poster prizes of $500 will be awarded during the closing plenary session.

A limited number of scholarships for registration and conference hotel accommodations will be available for doctoral students in nutrition and cancer who are studying in the United States. Scholarship applicants are required to submit a poster abstract with their scholarship application and scholarship recipients are required to present a poster at the conference. The deadline to submit a scholarship application with poster abstract is September 16, 2016.

- Walk-in registrations are welcome!

*Students must be prepared to show a full-time student ID at registration. Post-doctoral scholars do not qualify for the student rate.
**One-Day registration is for those who plan to attend only one day of the conference. Those who plan to attend more than one day of the conference must select Full Registration. Poster presenters must be registered for the entire conference to guarantee their spot in a poster session.

Event Images and Recordings
Your attendance at AICR events implies your permission for images and audio/visual recordings captured during these events to be used for purposes of AICR archival materials, promotional materials, and publications, and waives your rights for compensation or ownership of these images.
This activity has been approved by the Commission on Dietetic Registration for 20.5 Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) Continuing Professional Education (CPE) units.
Certificate of Attendance
A certificate of attendance will be available on request for all registered participants.
Passport and Visa Information
Delegates are responsible for obtaining the required travel documents for entry into the United States. Depending on your nationality, you may need a valid passport with a visa to enter the United States. Delegates are encouraged to contact the United States embassy closest to them for up-to-date travel guidelines.
Invitation letters to assist with visa applications for the United States can be provided once the following information has been submitted:
- Proof of payment of fees
- Full name
- Work and home address
- Date of birth
- Passport number

The 25th AICR Research Conference will be held at the Marriott Bethesda North Hotel & Conference Center in North Bethesda, Maryland. The hotel is conveniently located just off the White Flint Metro Station on Metro's Red Line.

Information about parking will be posted as it becomes available.
The Marriott Bethesda North Hotel & Conference Center is conveniently located near the White Flint Metro Station on Metro's Red Line. An underground tunnel is available to take you from the Metro entrance to the other side of Rockville Pike, where the hotel is located, or you can cross above ground.
Metro will be conducting major repairs on all rail lines through the end of 2016. Please check the WMATA website prior to travel to see if your trip will be impacted.
If you take the Amtrak, MARC or VRE train to Union Station, you can take a taxi to the hotel or follow the directions for the Metro above. Amtrak also services Metro's Rockville Metro Station, which is two stops away from the White Flint Metro Station where the hotel is located.
The hotel is conveniently located near three major airports.
- Reagan National Airport (DCA) is the closest hotel and taxi fares are approximately $65 one-way. You can also take the Metro from the airport to the White Flint Metro Station (see above directions for Metro).
- Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) is located about 40 minutes away and taxi fares are approximately $75 one-way.
- Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) is located about 50 minues away and taxi fares are approximately $95 one-way. If you arrive or depart on a week-day, you can also take the MARC train from BWI to Union Station, and then take the Metro to the hotel.
