The effects of aerobic exercise on circulating cellfree DNA in patients with stage I-III colon cancer: A randomized-controlled trial

Research Type: Colorectal Cancer

Project Description

One in three people diagnosed with colon cancer will see the disease return after an apparently disease-free period. Often, this recurrence is incurable. Exercise following a diagnosis of colon cancer may help to prevent its recurrence. This study seeks to explore the mechanisms behind how exercise can prevent colorectal cancer recurrence, specifically by monitoring the presence of fragments of genetic material from cancer cells in the bloodstream.
