Dr. Morin sought to determine how bile acids control and possibly prevent the growth of tumors in the large intestine. Fats in our diets are digested to form bile acids. Some bile acids apparently are involved with the conversion of tumor cells back to noncancerous cells. He explored this conversion and the role of the enzyme protein kinase C in the regulation of tumor cell growth.
