Prevention of Metastatic Breast Cancer Using a Novel Vitamin E Analog

Project Description

Previous studies have found that alpha-tocopheryloxyacetic acid (a-TEA) has the ability to selectively induce apoptosis of cancer cells in vitro and suppress tumour growth in pre-clinical animal models. The goal of this study was to employ Va-TEA, a more water-soluble and versatile version of a-TEA, in combination with an immune cell known as the dendritic cell (DC) to destroy metastatic breast cancer and to establish immunity.
