Community Shred Event to Benefit Cancer Research

Village at Leesburg on October 4, 2014

WASHINGTON, DC —The American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR), ProShred Security (“ProShred”) and LA Fitness are inviting community members to shred their personal documents at the second Shred Cancer event in order to raise funds for cancer research and increase awareness about cancer prevention.

The October 4 event is being held with LA Fitness at their Leesburg, Va., location from 8 – 11am.

Individuals are welcome to bring up to five boxes of documents for on-site shredding. The event is free; a suggested donation of $5 per box will go directly towards funding AICR’s cancer research program.

Participants will receive complimentary passes to LA Fitness, healthy recipes and other resources from AICR.

AICR’s mission to fund research on healthy lifestyle and cancer risk is made possible by the support of our partners, ProShred and LA Fitness.
