Cancer-Protective Lifestyle is for Everyone

YouTube video

What do Men’s Health Month and National Employee Wellness Month have in common? They both fall in June. Each celebrates good overall health – physical, emotional, and mental.

There is important common ground between messaging for men’s health and employee wellness, and that is where AICR comes in to emphasize further the focus on a cancer-protective lifestyle.

Men’s Health Month this year encourages men to visit their doctor regularly, take an active role in their health, eat right, exercise daily and wear blue the whole month to show your support, especially on June 15th. The focus on prevention of prostate and testicular cancer is very welcome. Too many men ignore early warning symptoms, are embarrassed to seek advice, and unaware that their lifestyle choices can make a difference.

Employee Wellbeing month helps employers and employees focus on developing healthy behaviors that they can stick with, not only for one month, but throughout the year. Getting an-hour a day of activity and eating healthy, nutritious meals are celebrated as one step to an energizing and productive day.

You can keep up with these campaigns on twitter via #MensHealthMonth and #EWM18.

AICR’s cancer prevention awareness campaign is in February, but we are delighted to support these empowering messages. Their advice on diet, staying active, and making cancer prevention a priority is spot on.

AICR’s newest scientific evidence confirms the most reliable cancer prevention advice currently available, summarized in 10 cancer prevention recommendations.

Following our package of diet, exercise and lifestyle recommendations is the best way you can lower your odds of getting cancer as well as reduce the risk of other chronic diseases like heart disease and type 2 diabetes. To see how your lifestyle stacks up against AICR’s recommendations, take the 5-minute Cancer Health Check.

Your choices add up – that is a message for everyone, every month of the year.
