Research Type: Multiple Sites Cancer
Project Description
The environments in which we live impact our health behaviors, perceived stress, and well-being. However, very little is known about how aspects of the lived environment, and the movement of young adult cancer survivors within that environment, influences health behaviors and well-being. Dr. Darabos’s group will use GPS data and daily health and wellness surveys to examine how well-being, stress, and health behaviors are impacted by the survivor’s location and movements. These insights will help the researchers to better understand this understudied aspect of cancer survivorship to identify potential “hotspots” or high-risk environments. In the future, this data can be used to proactively target interventions at the right place and time to better preserve the health and well-being of young adult cancer survivors.
