Food for thought: pilot study of a MIND diet intervention in triple negative breast cancer survivors

Research Type: Breast Cancer

Project Description

“Chemobrain” is the name given to memory and thinking problems caused by chemotherapy. Chemobrain affects up to three-quarters of breast cancer survivors who receive chemotherapy. Improving diet may reduce the risk and severity of chemobrain. This project will compare the results of memory and thinking tests in breast cancer patients randomly assigned to the “brain-healthy” MIND diet or usual care. This will test if the MIND diet can reduce chemobrain symptoms and improve the quality of life in breast cancer patients receiving chemotherapy.
