Research Type: Breast Cancer
Project Description
Our study will allow for the direct determination of the impact of diet modification on tumor control in brain metastases spread from breast cancer in overweight women, with the goal of addressing neurocognitive function decline and improving progression-free survival from stereotactic radiosurgery. We will test our hypothesis that a time-restricted diet, managed by means of telehealth coaching and text messaging intervention promoting a 16-hour nightly fasting duration, will improve metabolic processes that could modulate radiation-related toxicity, while also improving disease control. Our findings will provide families and communities with the information they need to take charge of their health during cancer treatments.
