In early June of 2013, Rod and Linda Hampton, a couple in their 60s, set out on a cross-country bicycle journey to raise money for the American Institute for Cancer Research. The couple has been married for 45 years and have been riding together ever since. In their hometown of Sturgis, SD, they enjoy rides through the Black Hills, but this journey marks their longest ride yet.  

Rod and Linda decided to make their trip after Linda lost her mother and Rod lost his sister to cancer. Rod says that after deciding to raise money for cancer research, “we have not spoken to one person yet who has not had a friend, relative or neighbor who has been affected by cancer”.
