Share Lasting Memories with AICR Tributes

Brady Lahr

Brady Lahr

Brady Lahr was a husband, brother, son, music lover, and outdoor enthusiast. When Brady was diagnosed with esophageal cancer at the age of 36, he became interested in nutrition and physical activity in relation to cancer.

Randy, Brady’s brother, recalls, “He wrote about this subject a lot on his blog and inspired several friends and family members to make changes in their diet and lifestyle.” When Brady lost his battle with cancer in the spring of 2012, Randy wanted to continue his legacy and create a memorial fund in his name.

Randy searched for cancer organizations that provided online memorials, and he decided to establish an AICR Memorial Tribute in honor of Brady. “I chose AICR because my brother became very interested in dietary aspects of cancer prevention and treatment after his diagnosis.”

Randy knew that Brady would have wanted the donations to go to an organization that was making an impact on cancer prevention. “Your mission and materials seemed to align with his interests.”

A Special Site for Loved Ones

AICR Tributes is a program that allows family, friends and coworkers to create personal web pages that include stories, photo albums, guest books, and personalized donation campaigns. “I appreciated a space that could tell something of Brady's story, as well as host photos in his memory,” Randy says.

“I also liked that a simplified web address could be used with his name in it to send people to the page,” Randy says. “This made it easier to publish the address in obituaries.  Overall, it was easy to create and I was happy to be able to send out the link to friends and family.”

Through Randy, Brady’s Tribute Fund is raising much needed funds for AICR’s programs. To view Brady’s tribute, please visit our website at www.aicr.org/BradyTribute.
