Philanthropic support is key to AICR pushing the limits on cancer research. When we started our mission over 30 years ago, we believed that cancer could be prevented by changes in both diet and physical activity and funded research to find evidence that has supported this idea. Today, we know that by following AICR's guidelines, people can cut their cancer risk and survivors can live longer. Research has proven that following AICR's recommendations saves lives.
Your leadership gift to AICR provides an opportunity for you to Lead the Way or Leave a Legacy in funding the future of cancer research. AICR’s staff will help you identify the opportunity that best matches your interest, a step that could one day build a cancer-free world. While most leadership giving opportunities start at $10,000, our leadership giving team will work with you to find the best way to direct your funds at the level you desire.
AICR is investing in cancer research on a variety of levels. From doctoral students to scientists conducting targeted cancer research, your gift can help AICR fund research in areas of diet, nutrition, and physical activity.
Fund a two-year fellowship at the AICR/WCRF Institute for the Advanced Study of Diet, Nutrition and Cancer at UNC Chapel Hill. The two-year fellowships are designed for individuals transitioning between post-doctoral work and assistant professorships.
A Restricted Research Gift funds a specific research project. Both single gifts and multi-year gifts can be made at a significant level to conduct targeted cancer research.
Fund the award that honors a researcher who helped advance the field of cancer research in the area of diet, nutrition and physical activity. Your gift helps spotlight some of the best in the field of cancer research.
A Challenge Match gift leverages your support to encourage others to give – providing double the funding to AICR for research and education. Your gift will be used to match other gifts for a donor campaign or other season giving effort.
Each year, AICR hosts an annual research conference that brings together researchers and clinicians to showcase research promoting prevention and treatment of cancer through nutrition, physical activity and weight management. The scholarships cover the conference registration and hotel accommodations for doctoral students in nutrition and cancer studying in the US. Five scholarships are awarded at each annual conference.
The AICR Board of Directors established the Gentry Circle to recognize the leadership support of dedicated individuals, businesses and foundations in the fight against cancer. Gentry Circle members receive a selection of benefits based on their calendar year giving levels.
For over 30 years, AICR has been a leader in cancer research. By joining us with your endowment or planned gift, you can help AICR continue to discover the keys to reducing or preventing cancer.
Creating an endowment fund is a great way to directly support cancer research programs at AICR. The annual distribution from the endowment will directly support AICR research grants. An endowment fund may be established in a family's name or in the name of a loved one and will support vital cancer research long into the future.
A bequest is just one path to funding AICR as part of your estate planning. AICR’s planned giving team can review all estate planning options.
Planned Giving is a means of making a charitable gift part of a donor's overall financial, estate, tax and philanthropic planning, maximizing the benefits to both the donor and the charity, and often achieving significant tax savings. Increasing the impact of your giving often can be achieved at very low cost. It's just a matter of planning what to give, how to give and when to give.
The League was established for our supporters who remembered AICR with a future gift. Members of the League have included AICR in their will, named us as a beneficiary in a charitable remainder trust, named AICR as the owner or beneficiary of a life insurance policy, or made a gift to our charitable gift annuity program.
