Diet and Physical Activity in Cancer Prevention and Survivorship: The Science and Practice
Presented May 15, 2012
Weight control, physical activity and a healthy diet are key elements that reduce risk and possibly recurrence of many cancers. How can we help people focus on the choices that will have greatest impact? In this webinar, we'll walk through the priority recommendations to reduce cancer risk, reviewing the research behind them and discussing practical tips you can share to facilitate their implementation.
Following this program, participants will be able to:
- Describe how results of laboratory and observational studies form the rationale and basis for randomized clinical trials that have tested the effect of diet modification on cancer prevention and control.
- Summarize special issues and strategies in weight management interventions for cancer survivors.
- Identify the evidence-based nutrition and physical activity recommendations to reduce risk of cancer or its recurrence.
- Describe challenges typically encountered in implementing those recommendations and strategies to help overcome them.
