Eating breakfast is one important strategy for losing and keeping off extra weight. In the National Weight Control Registry (NWCR) study, researchers found that at least 78% of NWCR participants report eating breakfast daily, and have lost at least 30 pounds and kept it off for at least one year. Breakfast may help curb hunger and prevent you from overeating later in the day. And, of course, staying a healthy weight is important for your overall health and for lowering your cancer risk.
The five breakfasts shown in the video include something for everyone, whether you're vegetarian, gluten-intolerant, or just bored with the same ol' start to your day.
Want a vegetarian option? How about a hummus-stuffed pita with apricots; morning trail mix and string cheese; or a fruit and cheese wrap?
Gluten free? Peanut butter on brown rice cakes and apple slices will do you nicely.
Just want something different for a change? What about a breakfast chicken salad?
