Pink RibbonPink on Purpose

A Purpose at Work

This October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month some of our supporters will take the initiative to bring our message to the workplace. With Pink On Purpose, AICR supplies organizations with the tools they need to bring coworkers together for a day of awareness and recognition of those whose lives are affected by breast cancer.

One organization has already been inspired by their boss’ recent diagnosis. Although she is currently recovering from surgery, upon her return to work, her colleagues will give her a surprise welcome back party with a Pink on Purpose day to show their solidarity.

Women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime. (NCI)

We supply our Pink on Purpose partners the tools to make their day fun and effective – a Purpose Kit that contains promotional materials, decorations, and breast health information. We also provide a web page with information specific to each company’s event, a secure online donation form, breast cancer research information, breast health resources, survivor information, and healthful pink-hued recipes.

Pink on Purpose is an easy way for employees and their companies to increase breast cancer awareness and to raise funds for breast cancer research and prevention. Simply pick any day in October, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, or any other day that works to host Pink on Purpose. Employees can wear pink, decorate the office pink, have a pink pot-luck, and make a personal donation to our breast cancer awareness and research programs.

500 a day

500 women are diagnosed with breast cancer every day in the US— that’s 182,460 new cases in the US every year. (NCI)

Whatever your motivation may be for hosting Pink on Purpose, we welcome you to join our purpose at work! For more information on hosting Pink on Purpose in your workplace, please contact us at colorsofhope@aicr.org.
