The New American Plate Challenge helps you put AICR’s recommendations for cancer prevention onto your plate and makes them an everyday part of your lives. You won’t need to count calories or add up points because the New American Plate is a simple, visual model that helps you focus on portion size and proportion. You'll get the information and tools you need to lose weight and feel better, but still have flexibility to personalize your plate and physical activity. Our Challenge works well in conjunction with other weight loss programs too.
AICR’s registered dietitians send you weekly emails to encourage you to tackle each diet or physical activity challenge and then do what research shows helps you successfully create healthy habits. This includes using your personal online journal to set goals, tracking your progress on your personal page and going to the online community forums where you can share triumphs and challenges and cheer each other on.
A Track Record of Success
Over 2000 participants have participated so far, and on average, Challengers who tracked their weight and waist lost 5 pounds and 2 inches off their waistlines over the program’s 12 weeks. Many lost much more.
