Dr. Robbins studied whether the ability of dietary polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) to cause the death of brain tumor cells, specifically from gliomas, might be due to an increase in free radical formation, causing lower cell survival and greater radiosensitivity of the PUFA treated cells.
