Project Description:

Based on preliminary data, Dr. Liang observed that citrate, a major constituent of citrus fruits, induces apoptosis in glioma cells. He studied the mechanism of citrate dependent apoptosis in glioma cells by identifying and cloning genes whose transcription is induced or repressed in response to citrate.
