Dr. Bikle tested whether retinoic acid (RA), selective RA receptor agonists and retinoid X receptor agonists alter proliferation and differentiation, as regulated by 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D in normal and transformed keratinocytes from epidermis, and the interactions of these components in regulating gene expression.
