Title:

Reversal of Apoptosis Resistance in Malignant Rat Lymphoma Cells and Human B-Cell Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia by Butyrate, a Diet-Derived Fatty Acid

Key words:

sodium butyrate, H-ras protooncogene signaling pathway

Research Institution:

University of North Dakota

Location:

North Dakota

Researcher:

Arthur R Buckley

Project Description:

Dr. Buckley used cell culture models to study the molecular processes involved in reversal of tumor progression by butyrate, produced from dietary fiber. Special emphasis was on the examination of whether sodium butyrate alters the H-ras protooncogene signaling pathway.
