In Russia and other countries of Eastern Europe, there is a very high incidence of gastric cancer. Dr. Zaridze and his colleagues conducted an epidemiological study in ten districts of Moscow to examine the relationship of dietary practices, smoking and alcohol consumption to gastric cancer.
