Dr. Narvaez sought to examine the role of protein kinase C isozymes in vitamin D induced apoptosis in breast cancer cells. This postdoctoral study may provide insight into the mechanisms of vitamin D in breast cancer and may lead to novel combination therapies with increased efficacy for breast cancer treatment.
