Dr. Feldman hypothesized, based on his previous work, that vitamin D deficiency status may promote the development and/or progression of prostate cancer. The effects of vitamin D deficiency, supplementation and use of vitamin D in combination with retinoids were studied in mice grafted with human prostate cancer cell lines.
