Project Description:

Protein Kinase C (PKC), which plays a role with enzymes to regulate cell growth, is affected by antioxidants. This grant looked at how dietary antioxidants�specifically carotenoids, vitamins C and E, and selenium�affect the activation or inactivation of PKC. The main goal of this study was to understand the nutrient interactions that are effective in counteracting tumor promoters.
