Dr. Sherman studied the effects of iron deficiency or abundance on mammary tumor development and the mammary cell cycle. She sought to answer the following questions: 1) is tumorigenesis altered by either; 2) does modification after carcinogen exposure influence tumor development; and 3) does deficiency impair mammary cell cycle and decrease tumorigenesis?
