Dr. Bikle evaluated how calcium and vitamin D (1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D) regulate the expression of genes important for differentiation of squamous cell carcinoma cell lines. He attempted to ascertain if abnormal gene regulation might be due to missing mediators of calcium and vitamin D.
