Project Description:

Dr. Malkinson studied why BHT, an antioxidant used as a food additive, stimulates lung cancer in one strain of mice but inhibits lung cancer in another strain. The strain of mice in which BHT protects against lung cancer also appears to be the only strain in which a low activity of an enzyme (called Protein Kinase C) is found.
