By studying women who were recently diagnosed with invasive breast cancer, Dr. Edwards hopes to determine whether fish oil protects against breast cancer and if so, how it does so. She proposes that omega-3 fatty acids may be safe and inexpensive tools in the arsenal of agents to combat breast cancer.
