Project Description:

This study is investigating whether the consumption of specific health-promoting bacteria, taken in the form of a probiotic supplement, can prevent the development of signs of colorectal cancer that result from inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The study also aims to determine if the beneficial bacteria have replaced the harmful bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract after long-term consumption of the probiotic supplement, and how the bacteria elicit beneficial effects.
