This study examined the role of the IGF-1/Akt/mTOR pathway in breast cancer by following the impact of changes in dietary energy balance on tumor development and metastases, and investigated whether pharmacologically-induced alterations of this pathway reduce obesity-induced mammary tumorigenesis.
