Title:

Tumor Blood Vessel Maturation by Selenium

Key words:

selenium, tumor blood vessel maturation

Research Institution:

Roswell Park Cancer Institute

Location:

New York

Researcher:

Arup Bhattacharya

Project Description:

This study investigated the role of selenium on tumor blood vessel maturation, based on the hypothesis that pre-treatment with organoselenium compounds leads to tumor vessel maturation, that this maturation can be assessed non-invasively by functional magnetic resonance, and that it can result in improved drug delivery and therapeutic response.
