Modulation of Fatty Acylation of Src Family Kinases by Dietarty Fat (2002)

Title:

Modulation of Fatty Acylation of Src Family Kinases by Dietarty Fat

Key words:

acylation, Src kinases

Research Institution:

Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center

Location:

New York

Researcher:

Marilyn D Resh

Project Description:

Dr. Resh investigated how different types of fatty acids perform in the N- and S-acylation of kinases of the Src family, which are involved in cell transformation. Acylation leads to binding to cell membranes, thus facilitating the capability of the Src kinases to lead to cancer.
