Pledge to Prevent Cancer
To mark World Cancer Day 2013, AICR is asking you to help us dispel the myth that cancer is just bad luck. Pledge to tell someone on February 4th that cancer CAN be prevented.
World Cancer Day kicks off National Cancer Prevention Month, which is why we’re also calling on you to make one lifestyle change during the month of February.
- Set aside an extra 15-minutes for physical activity a day – take a short walk, opt for the stairs not the elevator, or get your heart pumping with a few exercises at home.
- Eat an extra portion of fruit or vegetables at dinner.
- Swap your usual afternoon snack for a piece of your favorite fruit.
- Cut your alcohol consumption and keep 2 nights a week alcohol-free
